Saturday, August 30 from Indivisible 1431
On Saturday, August 30, we are holding a rally in RR titled “Stop the Cruelty: Put ICE on Ice.” It will be at the Water Tower Park (cool that it was built by WPA in ’35! It bears FDR’s fingerprint), 10 am-noon.
The event has multiple purposes. It will focus on the horrors being unleashed on Central Texas communities and families in a roundup of peaceful, law-abiding neighbors, and the solutions available to the rest of us.This rally dovetails with another Indivisible 1431 project. Indivisible 1431 is urging local jurisdictions to adopt humane-treatment resolutions, like those passed by the City of Austin, and Hays and Travis Counties. These resolutions affirm that all residents have a right to be treated like human beings, regardless of immigration status.
