DESCRIPTION:Preserving Democracy Coalition Caravan\nJuly 12\n8:00 am\nLegacy Park in Sun City \nGolf carts\, trucks\, cars\, bicycles\, motorcycles and other creative modes of transportation. Invite your friends and family to let our voices be heard in Sun City. Prizes for best decorated vehicles will be awarded (we hear that there are lots of cool kits to decorate cars and carts available from Amazon!) Refreshments at Legacy Park Pavilion will be served after the caravan. Carpooling is not encouraged! \nPlease click Caravan Survey to let us know if you will be there. \n  \nJULY 12TH PDC VEHICLE CARAVAN INFORMATION\nObjective: \nOur first Preserving Democracy Coalition Caravan will demonstrate that there is a substantial community within (and near) Sun City that is very concerned/passionate about protecting democracy in the United States\, and preventing creeping authoritarianism.  \nSome Specifics: \nBefore the Caravan\, fully charge or gas-up your vehicle. Please remember to bring your cell phone so you can call for help if needed. \nDecorate your vehicle with flags\, merchandise\, etc. Wear your purple shirt if you have one. The decoration emphasis should be on our mission: “Preserving Democracy”. Examples include the rule of law\, due process\, etc. Consider playing patriotic music if you have a sound system in your car or cart. Stay away from personal attacks on Trump or other individuals in all decorations and verbal statements.  And\, obviously – no vulgarities.   \nBetween 8:00 and 8:30 AM on Saturday morning\, July 12th\, we will meet to form up the PDC Caravan in the Legacy Pavilion parking lot. At 8:30 we will leave on a route that is approximately 15.5 miles long and our expected drive time for the trip is 45-50 minutes. We will be going from Legacy Pavilion to the Retreat to Northpoint and back to Legacy. \nThere will be a lead vehicle and a sweep vehicle. (Cell phone numbers will be provided.) Please keep in a single file line between the lead and the sweep vehicles. Our expected cruising speed is 22 miles an hour\, which is the limit for some of the golf carts. The lead vehicle will stop or slow down as needed to keep us together\, especially after left turn intersections. \nDrive safely and obey all traffic laws! All participants are free to depart from the caravan at any point\, but please do so safely.  If any vehicle breaks down or if there are some other issues\, safely park and either flag down another caravan vehicle for a ride or call the sweep for a pick-up. We will get you back to your vehicle later. \nAvoid any confrontations if we encounter any counter-protesters. \nWe are planning on proceeding with the caravan rain or shine. \nWe will expect to finish the caravan trip around 9:20 AM when we return to Legacy Pavilion. Please plan on staying for a celebration at the pavilion including morning ice cream! \nBONUS – If you bring your dog\, he/she will receive a free doggy ice cream treat courtesy of Wag Heaven.
